Hebrews 7:1-17

v2-16) What is the purpose of the story in Hebrews?

Basically to show the priesthood of Christ like Melchizedek was superior to the Jewish priests and their laws.

The priests' sacrifices had to be repeated, but Christ's sacrifice was only offered once, and it offers total and permanent forgiveness. Under the new covenant, the Levitical priesthood was canceled in favor of Christ's role as high priest.

When we have received victory and blessings, we offer God our tithe and He blesses us.

For we the lesser is blessed by the greater.

...gave him a tenth of EVERYTHING.
