Hebrews 11:32 - 12: 13
"...the world was not worthy of them."
This struck a chord within me. While we have never gone through such taxing trials as these men and women, we are all of greater worth than this world because by faith we believe Jesus made us holy and righteous.
Knowing their stories and God's involvement every step of the way, I am continually encouraged that He will see to it that I/we will run this race called Life well. I am also deeply grateful that He cheerleads me as my Father.
Some of us are going through some really really difficult times. I can tell you there are times that it really hurts (v11) but I can also testify that God is truly good. And He will do amazing things to transform not only you but impact those around you. Really. Whatever you're going through, I pray that you hold on to see it through. His promises always come to pass.
And when you are too weak, cry out to God and remember your cloud of witnesses: us! Ecclesiastes 4:8 - 10. We will stand with you.

along the same lines, i too was struck today by the words "race marked for us". i gotta keep my eyes on JC and run the race He wants me to run.
also today we talk about discipline and it rings so true...it hurts and the time and sometimes we only see the benefits after. but the key is that He only disciplines His sons are the ones He loves. isn't that wonderful?
