2 Peter 1:1-21
-"make every effort..." and "if you do these things...", much of what is speaking to me today, speaks about taking an active role in our daily walk with God. it is up to us to receive His promises so that we may participate in his divine nature and escape the corruption in the world.
-"remind you of these things,...", "it is right to refresh your memory", and "be able to remember these things." Many of the things we read or hear on Sundays we might have already heard, but the Christian life is not necessarily about learning new stuff all the time, but instead an ongoing remembering and meditation of the truths of our faith.
-during that time and even now, there will always be false teachers. but throughout it all, we know that we can depend on God's Word to check whatever we are hearing. For the scripture didn't come about because of man's interpretation but was God speaking through men. His Word is a lamp to our feet and a lamp for our path. Keep the Word close to your hearts.
