Revelation 10:1-11

The Angel and the Little Scroll
1Then I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven. He was robed in a cloud, with a rainbow above his head; his face was like the sun, and his legs were like fiery pillars. 2He was holding a little scroll, which lay open in his hand. He planted his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land, 3and he gave a loud shout like the roar of a lion. When he shouted, the voices of the seven thunders spoke. 4And when the seven thunders spoke, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from heaven say, "Seal up what the seven thunders have said and do not write it down."
5Then the angel I had seen standing on the sea and on the land raised his right hand to heaven. 6And he swore by him who lives for ever and ever, who created the heavens and all that is in them, the earth and all that is in it, and the sea and all that is in it, and said, "There will be no more delay! 7But in the days when the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet, the mystery of God will be accomplished, just as he announced to his servants the prophets."

8Then the voice that I had heard from heaven spoke to me once more: "Go, take the scroll that lies open in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land."

9So I went to the angel and asked him to give me the little scroll. He said to me, "Take it and eat it. It will turn your stomach sour, but in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey." 10I took the little scroll from the angel's hand and ate it. It tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth, but when I had eaten it, my stomach turned sour. 11Then I was told, "You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, languages and kings."

Up until today's daily devotion and we are all at Rev 10, so far we read about God's judgment send to the earth, sounded so fearful and horrible. In the OT, we read many times how God teach and discipline the Israelites; we realized God the Father is not only loving and kind but He is also quite a tough and straight Father. Let me be transparent and share my latest discovery of Father God and learnt why He send judgment to the earth and to His people to understand the forthcoming worldwide judgment.

Recently I was challenged by Him on serving with love, I realized with all of my good intention and human known sincerity to love, serving in sensible ing lovmanner is never good enough, at some points I will run into "hindrance" like offened or need to deal with difficult people, I can either feel ship-wrecked or troubled, or I learn from Jesus. To serve in love, first our heart must be filled with Father's love, knowing and feeling His love means security. There is a child inside each of us, if this child does not feel loved, this child cannot function in love, sooner or later that human love will run aground. This is why the Bible says to love others like yourself, but if we do not know how to love ourselves, then how to love other? So I began to learn from Christ and pray for Him to give me His heart. 1Corn 13:4-7 – this is actually not a wedding vow as most coupled choose to use on their wedding day. This is actually describing Jesus – He is the long suffering King, patiently waiting for us to turn around, He is the servant King, He cheers us on when we succeed, He rejoices with us, cries with us. This is the Jesus we read about in Ish 53.

We also need to study the attributes of God, to understand why God judges, for He is holy, just, righteous and unchangeable. Because of His Holiness, He will give His people times to repent, failing that, His judgment will come; Judgment in reality bring in correction leading to revival of heart or draw us close to Him. Last night I was in a teaching session by a prophetic teacher, calling intercessor to pray God's judgment into being to His House – this is pretty hard stuff, but it does not mean God judge the Church out of anger, He is purifying His church, calling us to be obedient. Out of His Church, release salvation from His House to the world. We are the salt and light, we point the troubled people to come into the House of the Lord when trouble rises high, and folks it is coming. (One funny thing I learned and took heart to, when we become a Christian, God wants to kill us - kill the flashy self to perfect us, the devil also wants to kill us - to pull us into eternal hell and fire. The choice is obvious – better let God kills us than the devil.
God also deals with our heart, perfect our humility out of wilderness experience for He wants us to be conformed to be Christ like (Rom 8:29). The Lord judge to chastise our character, prepare us to be released into intercession in a pure way even it is a judgment prayers. That is an eye opener to me.

So my own lesson, don't judge, only God judge. Ask God to fill me with His love, check my heart if the next time I serve Him, is it out of duty, or because I love Him, and I want to bring to God things which are valuable to Him, totally abandoned to Him, learn to produce in the heart of the Lord Jesus what Mary of Bethany produced.

I would also like to respond to :

Tim Mak sent this article out, Angels of Doom by Ray C Stedman (on Rev 8), in this article he mentioned God judged Israel, both its leaders and its people (Zephaniah 1:12-13) and the corresponding verse is Jeremiah 30:7 – "the time of Jacob's troubles". Jacob is all the Jews in the world. Jacob refers to Israel the nation. This is not a verse in OT, this verse is applicable and alive, as in WWII time, as in today's time. Israel is still in apostasy, still rebellious, still against God. We need to pray for them. There will be another world wide persecution coming to all the Jews. God is using that to correct His people out of His love and Holiness. Draw them back to Him. I know serious thought to ponder on, if we are grafted onto the vine, we will also receive correction.

Intercession out of a pure heart on judgment issues, may also mean, pleading God's mercy to avoid the more serious degree of judgment over the nation. Rev 8:3 God answer the prayers of His intercessors, prayers like incense arise up to Heaven, store in the golden censer, when it is full, God pours back to earth to answer His saints. I urge you to pray urgently for the current finance situation, pray for China.
